Morzine in one the most reputed resort amongst the French Alps. it has ways to other ski resorts with just one lift pass.
Begginers
For compleat begginers the creche is on the slopes and a few small drag lifts and runs ar available.
The EXCELLENT nursery areas are at the summit of Pleney and the Nyon Plateau. Easily accessible they are wide and gentle with snow cannons to keep the snow all seasons. Both are directly accessed by telecabine so you don’t need to ski down at the end of the day. If you do decide to ski back to town it is a nice gentle bluse winding down through the trees. From the Both areas you have a good sellection of mountain restaurants .
Intermediates
Intermediates are spoilt for choice Morzine and les gets have over 150 kms of marked runs
The portes de soleil has over 600 km and 12 other villages to explore in France and Switzerland this is paradise on skis. From Morzine you can catch the Morzine Express to Avoriaz which is the gate way to the portes de soleil. A good mixture of tree lined runs, big bowls and the option to cover the whole Portes du Soleil area on blue and gentle red runs. On the pieste map marked itinerary runs are shown to do the circuit of the portes du Soleil. It’s a full day circuit covering 80km of Piste, 2 countries and never using the same lift twice!
Advanced
From the reds to blacks but there is also vast off piste areas away from the tracks between trees in. Staying on piste the black below the Chamossiere chair is long with a steep gradient. Avoriaze has the chalanging swiss wall and the worls cup down hill
Snowboarding is good with a park and boarding on all the pistes. There is plenty to do in the area apart from skiing and the village has a fine selection of shops, restaurants and bars.
