Morzine Avoriaz, France

Ski Holiday Morzine - Self Catering Morzine - Catered Chalet Morzine

Where is Morzine? Morzine is one of the most popular and long established French Resort as it is very easy to reach from Geneva Airport. It is roughly at a driving distance of 1hr 15 mins from airport. It has a very sattle atmosphere and gentle tree-filled slopes, where bad weather rarely causes problems.

Morzine is the largest of the 13 interconnected ski resorts within Les Portes du Soleil, and has something on offer for every one .
The 13 linked ski resorts cross over  from France to Switzerland  . A far cry from the sleepy Savoyard village set in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Dranse  , it’s now a proper Alpine ski resort  whose main industry is tourism; both winter and summer and has maintained an  , all year round appeal, the town still kept its traditional chalets and barns and an authentic Savoyard charm.  Morzine offers much more  variety for shops,  bars and restaurants than the normal ski resort due to it village atmosphere. This is a great bonus i especially if you have a non skier in your group  During the winter season it is  very popular   with the Brits, Dutch and Belgians  so suites all tastes and budgets.

we have the morzine trail map and town map for giving you an idea ::

Morzine shares an area with Les Gets on its own offers a large ski area of over 150 kms. But for the intermediate and advanced skier the super morzine telecabine ( opened in 1992) gives Morzine direct excess to Avoriaz and the  650 km of pistes   that the  Portes de Soleil has to offer

It's location is id probably the beast of all the villages in ported de soleil for  it's central location in the ski region. You   have two possibilities to start to the day. You can either go to   ski area of Pleney which connects to the neighbouring  ski area of Les Gets  . Or you can go up the other side of the valley towards the more challenging ski area and where all the border head to  Avoriaz 1800 which connects to the ski resorts of Champery/Les Crosets and Champoussin in Switzerland and the La Linga section of the Chatel ski area.

About an hour and a half from Geneva, just south of the lake, Avoriaz ia another anchor of the French side of Portes du Soleil.
